Healthy hot chocolate

There’s nothing like a hot chocolate to warm you up on these cold wintery days. My version here is a healthy version, free from refined sugar and dairy…. give it a try.

I steam my almond milk which gives it a nice bit of frothiness but you can just warm the milk in a pan if you don’t have a milk steamer.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp of pasture raised collagen

  • 1/4 tsp of raw cacao powder (Add more if you like a more intense flavour)

  • 1/4 tsp of cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp of medicinal mushrooms (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp of coconut sugar

  • 2 tsps. of coconut cream

  • 1 cup almond milk

Method

  • Put the first five ingredient in a mug, add a little milk (about a tablespoon) and blend into a runny paste

  • Put the milk and coconut cream into a pan and warm gently

  • Add the warm milk and coconut cream to the chocolate paste and stir
