Directions:

Spray on the face and neck after cleansing. For optimum result use in conjunction with the Harriet Botanicals range.  For external use.

Plants are powerful! Patch testing is recommended when incorporating a new product into your skincare regime & is an easy way to determine if you have a negative reaction to a new product. Apply a small amount of the product to clean skin on upper forearm & allow to dry, check for any redness, burning, itching, or irritation after 24 hours. If irritation occurs, do not use the product.

 

Storage:

Store out of sunlight below 24˚C .  Use with in 12 months.

The Botanicals:

 Witch Hazel

 Hamamelis virginiana is and American shrub rich in tannis and phytonutrients as well as essential oils and flavonoids.  Historically it has been used by the Native Americans to treat the skin, particularly painful swellings.  The plant has astringent qualities, vasoconstrictive activities, with the ability to reduce the temperature of the skin.  It is good for reducing irritation, healing and is good for dry skin conditions and is promising in treating dermatitis.  It has constituents that sooth inflammation and studies have shown that it reduces redness, itching, acne and modulates oil production.

 Kanuka

Kunzea ericoides, commonly known as kānuka, is a native New Zealand.  It is in the same family as the manuka shrub and they share similar properties.  Kanuka has properties  that reduce heat, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral, it’s also provides anti-inflammatory and astringent properties helping reduce pore size and regulate oil production while removing dirt and oil deep in the skin.

 Geranium

This heady scented flower has natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  It can boost the skins health producing a natural glow.  It increases the skins condition, soothing irritation and the effects of harsh climates and is an effective plant for acne prone skin. Geranium has astringent properties that tightens the skin helping reduce the signs of aging.

 Aloe Vera

Aloe barbadensis is a succulent juicy plant that contains a plethora of minerals, vitamins, proteins and polyphenols to name a few of its precious constituents. History suggests that cleopatra used aloe in her skincare regime! It is considered one of the greatest healing herbs in existence.  It stimulates the skins healing mechanism.  It is capable of penetrating deep into the skin and is absorbed 5 times faster that water and stimulates the skins immune system.  It is hydrating, cooling, moisturising and excels the regeneration of the skins cells.

The Essential Oils:

Rose Absolute

This is an orangey brown essential oil with a very deep rich spicy floral note.  Historically rose has always symbolised beauty, love, youth, and perfection and was prized in Babylon, Assyria China, Rome and by the Greeks for its scent and cooling soothing influence. It soothes the nervous system and has the power to ease anxiety, insomnia, and sorrow.  For the skin, rose absolute has exceptional softening and hydrating properties with a astringent effects on capillaries and can be used in the treatment of broken capilleries.  It’s excellent for dry mature skin due to its hydrating potential, ability to reduce redness and inflammation.

 German Chamomile

Matricaria recutita is deep blue in colour with a fresh, sweet herbaceous scent with rich fruity undertones.  Chamomile is excellent for sensitive skin problems and, with its vasoconstrictive properties can reduce redness and inflammation of enlarged capillaries.

 Cedarwood

Juniperus virginiana is a yellowish oil with an interesting aroma, described as strongly aromatic with a deep woody undertone with the ability to balance oil production.

 Lavender

Lavandula angustifolia has a delightful herbaceous floral scent and powerful anti-inflammatory properties.  It is a versatile oil and in skin care can sooth dry skin and reduce inflammation.
